Braden King Back at WSF, Directs for Coke

Washington Square Films is pleased to announce that director BRADEN KING has officially rejoined the company. After a year away, we very much look forward to continuing this collaboration and further developing what has already proven to be a successful relationship. Most recently since returning to WSF, King has directed a short film for Coke, featured on the Coca-Cola Company’s webpage. The “North Ward Park” project showcases Coke teaming with local officials in Newark, New Jersey to administer grants and improve parks and recreational facilities.

Some of King’s other recent accomplishments include his feature film, HERE, which premiered at the 2011 Sundance and Berlin Film Festivals and has been distributed throughout the world. His awards and honors include the 2011 Berlin Film Festival C.I.C.A.E. Award, a 2010 Cinereach / Sundance Institute Fellowship, nomination to the 2008 Cannes Film Festival Atelier, the 2008 Sundance / NHK International Filmmakers Award, 2007 Sundance Writers and Directors Lab Fellowships and grants from the Creative Capital, Rockefeller, Annenberg and Sloan Foundations.

Additional credits include numerous music videos for Sonic Youth, Laurie Anderson, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy (Will Oldham), Dirty Three, Chan Marshall (Cat Power), Sparklehorse and commercial clients include Samsung, American Airlines, Scholastic, Miller Beer, ESPN, Nikon, the Partnership for a Drug-Free America, Johnson & Johnson, Siemens and UNICEF.
