Alison Klayman’s Brawny Spot Celebrates Women’s History Month

WSF director Alison Klayman proves that strength has no gender in her latest commercial for Brawny, which replaces its iconic Brawny Man mascot with the new (and some may say improved) Brawny Woman. The campaign is composed of numerous videos celebrating women throughout history who have broken glass ceilings—from Harriet Tubman to Serena Williams—as well as some women you may not have heard of, like Vernice Armour, the first African American female combat pilot in the U.S. and the first African American female pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps. It’s been praised as being “badass” and “pretty much the coolest thing a paper towel has ever done,” and we completely agree.
