Queen of Earth Now in Theaters and VOD

Jun 13, 2015

After receiving acclaim at the 65th annual Berlin Film Festival, Alex Ross Perry’s QUEEN OF EARTH is now in theaters and available for VOD.

This mark’s Perry’s fourth feature film and second production working with Washington Square Films after 2014’s LISTEN UP PHILIP.
Produced by Perry, Joe Swanberg and Adam Piotrowicz, QUEEN OF EARTH is a psychological chamber piece that stars Elisabeth Moss (Listen Up Phillip, The One I Love) as Catharine, who after recently being dumped by her boyfriend, retreats to the beachfront home of her best friend, Ginny (played by Katherine Waterston of Inherent Vice and the forthcoming Steve Jobs). Tension rises between the two concerning past and present issues as Catharine’s waning mental stability becomes increasingly apparent.

The Playlist has praised QUEEN OF EARTH citing Perry’s work as “a thrilling new filmmaking step” while Variety has gone onto call the film,  “acidly funny” and an “unnerving portrait of a psychological breakdown.”  The AV Club calls the film “remarkable.”
The New York Times applauds QUEEN OF EARTH and Elisabeth Moss’s performance stating that “Ms. Moss brings tremendous depth of feeling to the role” and “…with her intimate expressivity, who annihilates you from first tear to last crushing laugh.”
