Lana Wilson is an Emmy Award-winning director known for crafting visually striking and emotionally resonant stories.
Her latest film, Look Into My Eyes (Sundance 2024), was released by A24 and hailed as “mesmerizing” (IndieWire) and “a deeply moving exploration of connection” (The Wrap). Her two-part Hulu documentary Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields premiered at Sundance 2023 and broke viewership records on Hulu.
Her previous film, the Taylor Swift documentary Miss Americana, was a Netflix Original that became a global pop culture phenomenon. It was the Opening Night Film of Sundance 2020 and named one of the year’s best documentaries by the National Board of Review.
Wilson brings her signature storytelling to commercial and branded work, directing campaigns for Always, Nuts.com, and a Bonnie Raitt tribute for the Kennedy Center Honors. With a cinematic, deeply human approach to advertising, she creates work that is as powerful as it is visually compelling.
Wilson’s earlier films include After Tiller (Sundance 2013), which won an Emmy for Best Documentary, and The Departure (Tribeca 2017), nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and was honored with a retrospective of her work, Come Alive: The Films of Lana Wilson at the Museum of the Moving Image (New York) last year.
