Allison Narver
Allison Narver has directed, for The Empty Space Theater in Seattle, the World Premieres of Bust by Lauren Weedman; 1984 adapted from George Orwell’s novel by Narver and Wayne Rawley; G-D Doesn’t Pay Rent Here (25 Questions for a Jewish Mother) by Judy Gold and Kate Moira Ryan; Texarkana Waltz by Louis Broome; and Valley of The Dolls adapted for the stage by Narver, Jason Cannon, and Burton Curtis.
Most recently Narver directed a new musical by Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen (Title of Show) for Disney Entertainment.
Other regional credits include: Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theater; Female of the Species, Eurydice and The Clean House at A Contemporary Theater (Seattle); Bluenose and The 100 Dresses at Seattle Children’s Theatre; Three Tall Women, Memory House and Bad Dates at The Seattle Repertory Theatre; Orange Flower Water at New Century Theater (Finalist – Outstanding Director, Outstanding Production, Gregory Awards); Bust at Boise Contemporary Theatre, REDCAT Theater (Los Angeles) and City Theatre (Pittsburgh); Leaving Queens at Portland Stage Company; and Company at Alice B. Theater (Seattle).
Narver has also directed the world premieres of The Fatty Arbuckle Spookhouse Revue, Radio Pirates, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Maggie Cassidy, I See London, I See France (book, music and lyrics by Chris Jeffries) and Glen Berger’s Bessemer’s Spectacles.
New York credits include: Second Hand Dance at The New Victory Theatre; Leaving Queens at The Women’s Project; Texarkana Waltz at The Kirk Theatre; and as the Resident Director for Julie Taymor’s production of The Lion King.
Narver has served as Artistic Director for The Empty Space Theater in Seattle, The Yale Cabaret at Yale University and for Annex Theater in Seattle, and earned her MFA in Directing from Yale University.
