Jennifer Barclay

Jennifer Barclay is a screenwriter and playwright, whose awards include Samuel Goldwyn Writing Award (for the feature, Prank), Semi-finalist in Final Draft’s Big Break Competition (for the feature, The Fontaines), Pinter Review Gold Medal, Kennedy Center National Science Playwriting Award, Princess Grace Award finalist and Heideman Award finalist. Residencies include Hawthornden International Writers Retreat, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference.

As a playwright, Jennifer’s work has been developed and produced across Europe and the U.S. at such venerable theatres as Steppenwolf, Teatro Vista and The International Theatre of Vienna. Jennifer has a Bachelors from Northwestern University (studied with Oscar-nominee screenwriter John Logan), an MFA in Playwriting from UC San Diego, and is currently the Playwright in Residence at Tony-Award winning South Coast Repertory.
