Antonio’s short film, The Last 15, has been selected as one of two American short films in competition at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. The Last 15 premiered at the 2007 New Directors New Films Festival at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Antonio was selected as one of six international fimmakers to participate in the Cannes Residency Program during the fall of 2006.
Campos’ short film, Buy It Now (the narrative version), world-premiered at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival Cinefondation and won First Prize. Soon after this, he took home the Audience Award for the film (full-feature version) at CineVegas. The film has also been nominated and in competition at the Rain Dance Film Festival, Rio De Janeiro International Film Festival, Sao Paulo International Short Film Festival, Beijing International Student Film and Video Festival, Libertas International Film Festival, and the Women Make Waves Film Festival in Taipei.
A native New Yorker, Antonio began making films at thirteen when, lying about his age and claiming to be sixteen, he was accepted into the New York Film Academy where he wrote and directed the short film, Puberty. The film won Second Place at the National High School Film Festival. Over the past five years, Antonio has written and directed almost twenty short films and documentaries, which have garnered numerous awards and accolades. His short film, First Kiss, made when he was 17, won the prestigious National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts (NFAA) scholarship and went on to garner him the title Presidential Scholar in the Arts, one of only twenty artists chosen from the entire country. With the help of the NFAA, he was able to make his next short film, Pandora, starring Andrew Keegan and Mario Cantone. The film screened at festivals all over the country from New York to Hawaii.
Antonio is finishing up his last year at NYU Film School, while developing his first feature with his company BorderLine Films. Campos is currently in pre-production on a music video for the artist, The Shins’ third single from “Wincing the Night Away.”
